Green SealTM
Green Seal is an international, independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the environment by promoting the manufacture and sale of environmentally responsible consumer products. It sets environmental standards and awards the "Green Seal of Approval" to products that cause less harm to the environment than other similar conventional products.
By setting standards for environmentally responsible products, Green Seal seeks to reduce air and water pollution; cut the waste of energy and natural resources; slow ozone depletion and the risk of global warming; prevent toxic contamination; and protect fish and wildlife and their habitats.
Working with harsh solvents and greases does not mean they must be used for clean up. The Green Seal program includes WORXTM All-Natural Hand Cleaner* in a list of preferred hand cleaners that are gentle on hands and tough on grease without being tough on the environment. No harsh solvents means the product is mild on skin, easy on pipes, non-intrusive on aquatic health, and safe for employees to use.
Products accredited by the Green Seal Program must be readily biodegradable as determined by whole formulation testing. They must not be toxic to aquatic life as measured by whole formulation short-term sensitive toxicity testing to three species, must not be corrosive to skin, and must not include abrasives.
